Marriage trends in Pakistan

Is the power of the Aunty network subsiding in Pakistan? First it was the famous TV show Shadi Online and now an Aranged Marriage of another sort has taken off in Urban Pakistan:
An article from the Jang News states:

"..........Most matchmakers strongly feel the media are solely responsible for the changing attitudes among men and women who prefer beauty over brains due to which the old trend of a 40 year-old man desiring to marry a 25 year-old woman is gradually coming back. In this case if the man is well settled, parents are unwilling to let go of the proposal and become equally anxious to marry their daughters off at a young age.

On the other hand, keeping the high rate of inflation in mind, the demand for educated and working women has also been increasing whereby men expect their future partners to contribute to the family income.

Sources also say that today men are not the only ones to reject women and that the latter have become equally demanding with the passage of time. Trends in beauty have also changed and the typical demand for a girl with a fair complexion is also gradually decreasing. "What most families look for in a girl is her education and how presentable she is regardless of the complexion or height. Slightly overweight girls, however, are still not accepted," admits Saba Zafar, another matchmaker who has been in the profession for 10 years.................."

Ok I know everyones tired of my Saudi stories lol..but HERE:
So before I came back, my dad, pappa, was reading the paper and he starts laughing his belly coughing laugh and we're all like what? what? what is it read it out loud, and he goes "Saudi bride declines to marry man right when sheikh man asked her "Qabul hay? or Do you accept?". Apparently all was well until her sight fell upon the grooms shoes which were in an utterly dire state, in a state of horror and shock she said,"NO NEVER!" when asked why she declined so late she replied most respectfully,"what man will take care of his wife, when he cant even take good care of his shoes"
Bhaijan thinks saudi women are high maintenance hehehe..But I have heard, it is the mans shoes and his nails that give away the SECRET of his true Nature :)
So THERE!..BE PREPARED! :D

I was happy to hear the story,
since you would expect the norm, where the girls EVERY SINGLE HABIT and behaviour is observed..But arab women have proven that men need to be checked and groomed as well :P

Faray .. that is such a harsh story .. really .. look being presentable is from the Sunnah .. but being obsessed is not .. that is a western import .. honestly I would hate it if a women turned me down because of the state of my shoes .. I could be just one of those men who would lavish all kinds of love and care towards his wife but not towards his shoe .. you see people in the west who love their cars more than their wife literally!
