It depends on who you are marrying. Financial details should be one of the important things brought to the table when you are seriously talking to a potential person.
Lets say you like to save money and she spends or vice versa, then that can really put a strain on the marriage.
One thing I heard from a non-Muslim point of view but I think has become very valid for people of all religions is to know a bit about your possible life partner's financial background before marriage i.e. do they have loans, how much do they spend in a month and so on.

haha, we don't use credit cards so I can't say. But it seems more a stereotype than anything else.
